Every other Friday, the arrival of Navi, the beloved coffee cart, transforms RE’s Upper School campus into a hub of excitement. The 2025-26 school year introduced several updates, but none have earned as much attention as the Navi cart.
Each Friday, the cart moves from the store’s Grand Avenue location and sets up near the La Brisa Alumni Office, with a line that often stretches across the patio, filled with students eager to start their day with a delicious drink or tasty pastry item. Students wait for drinks or pastries before their first class, during free periods or after lunch, and the cart’s wide range of options means there is something for everyone.
Two of the most-ordered drinks are the iced vanilla latte and the iced vanilla matcha with pistachio milk and honey, both of which have become student favorites.
Lainey Soloman ’28 and Sabrina Lubow ’28, both regulars at the cart, said it has been a great addition to the school and consistently brightens everyone’s day. Soloman said the cart “changes the mood of RE as a whole as it makes everyone uplifted and prepared for the day ahead of them by giving the students a pick me up before or in between classes.”
Lubow added that she enjoys “starting my Friday mornings with a delicious pastry, especially if I haven’t eaten breakfast yet; I also enjoy waiting in line with all of my friends as it is a great place to socialize and talk to everyone before our school day gets started.”
Teachers have also noticed a shift in energy on Fridays as students arrive to class more awake and engaged. Ms. Jess Merrick, Director of Teaching and Learning, said she sees “how overall everyone is in a more joyful mood even with the teachers and how it is great that anyone is able to go and order from the cart for a snack during the day.”
Navi’s employees said they appreciate the enthusiasm from the RE community and enjoy contributing to students’ mornings through their drinks and pastries.
For many at Ransom Everglades, Friday means one thing: a visit to Navi. The coffee cart has quickly become a valued weekly tradition and a much-anticipated start to the day.
